What is Pollen Allergy?

Its meaning is in its name. Pollen allergy or hay fever is an allergy that you can get from pollen dispersed through the air in different seasons. There is not only single kind of pollen from which you can get this allergy. There are numerous kinds of plants having pollen. When they get into your nose or throat, you will have these symptoms:

Sneezing due to irritation caused by pollen, asthma, the most dangerous allergic result, headache, rhinitis, watery eyes, sore throat, coughing and runny nose.

If you notice these symptoms during summer, go to the doctor because you might be a victim of the ragweed pollen. In spring, oak, birch, hickory , pecan and hickory blooming plants’ pollen may be inhaled. They can enter in mouth passages that result to irritation. During, summer, fall and spring you have to be careful so that you will not get sick through these ones.

In a place where these plants grow Ryegrass & Timothy , Alder, Cedar, Hazelnut, Willow, Plane, Olive and Hornbeam, Ragweed, Nettle, Mugwort, Goosefoot & Sorrel, more care is needed especially during hot, dry, windy days and humid atmosphere since pollen usually is in the air. If you are in an area of rainy season, you are less affected by pollen allergy for they are washed out. It is not saying that you will be complacent because your place is safe from pollen. There might be still pollen that will sneak into your nasal and mouth passages. However, the tendency of having allergy to most of people has a less possibility.
